If you purchase a domain name from us, your domain name will be placed in your private account, at GotoNames.com, where you can access, administrate, update, or make changes, however YOU see fit.
Many hosting companies will keep your domain name, in their own name, making it difficult for you make changes or change hosts, if the hosting company doesn't work out for you.
In short, some web hosts, will hold your domain name hostage, in order to keep your business, or at least make it difficult for you to move.
