After a person has subscribed to receive a mailing or news letter, he/she may later ask to be removed. This process is called opt-out.
Opt-out is also an eMail marketing term whereby emails are sent to the recipient whether they've signed up or not. The recipient then has to specifically request not to be included in any further email shots. This method is unresponcible, and deamed
